aboutanna
Anna Tabbush has been conducting choirs since, at the age of sixteen, she
was asked by her overworked music teacher to take rehearsals for her school
choir.
Anna established her first choir at Kingston University while studying for
her degree in Music and Technology. She took The Kingston University World
Vocal Ensemble (formerly known as "Anna's Choir") for two years while
studying and for a further year when the University employed her to keep it
on while she worked as a Repertoire Researcher in the Folk and World
department of the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS). During
this time Anna was also asked to run a choir in the Kingston Kaleidoscope
Drugs and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre which she conducted for the last
year that she was based in Kingston.
In June 2002 Anna moved to Brighton to start life as a free-lance musician.
In January 2003 she started Brighton Vox Community Choir who will celebrate
their 5th anniversary this January.
Anna moved to Guildford in February 2004 and in November 2005 established
Guildford Vox Community Choir with valuable organiser and choir treasurer
Rod Edbrooke. Guildford Vox is by far the largest choir Anna has run and it
continues to grow to this day!
Besides her own choirs, Anna has also guest conducted and arranged music for
Andover Museum Loft Singers and Alton Community Choir.
Anna also performs with several well known bands: Anna Tabbush & the Odd
Socks, Meridian, The Climax Ceilidh Band and The Tabbush Sisters.
